Three Wishes Blog Blitz

Today I’m participating in the Three Wishes Blog Blitz, hosted by author Juliet Madison! From 2nd to 6th September you’ll have the chance to win some awesome prizes at all the blogs participating in the blitz, including mine. All you have to do is follow my instructions below for winning the prize I have on offer, and then you can click over to Juliet’s blog to enter her prize draw, and see the list of all other blogs taking part and enter their giveaways as well. How cool is that? Why is it called the Three Wishes Blog Blitz? Juliet’s new  romantic comedy release, I Dream of Johnny, is about three wishes, a high-tech genie in a lamp, and one very unfortunate typo that proves magic isn’t all it cracked up to be…

And it got me thinking about what I would wish for if I was given a magic genie lamp, and three wishes to go along with it.

My genie....

There are the obvious things I would wish for: peace, equal rights for all and a generally healthier planet. However, if we’re being honest here, there are some purely “me” things I would wish for as well. It’s like that conversation you have with your friends and family before a big lottery draw – the one where you all discuss what you would do if you won the major prize.

So what would I wish for with my three “me” wishes?

1. An open account at Book Depository or Amazon.

An open account at BD or Amazon would be AWESOME!!My poor old credit card groans at the prospect of being belted again by a book-buying frenzy. The folks at BD and the Kindle Store do very well out of me, I can tell you. My father-in-law had to fix my bookshelves to the wall of my study, so they wouldn’t fall over under the weight of my paper “babies”.

My wishlist for both sites is rather long, so if my benevolent genie could see their way to grant this wish, I would be ever so grateful. Oh, and Kindle people, no geo restrictions please.

2. A walk-in pantry that magically fills with any ingredient I need.

Oh, for a walk-in pantry!I love cooking (and eating for that matter), but one look at my pantry cupboard and I often resort to frozen meals. At our old house, we had a walk-in pantry (not a magical one, mind you) and it was awesome.

The reason I want a self-filling pantry is this: have you tried shopping with a toddler? Enough said there.

There are so many wonderful ingredients I just can’t get here in Australia, and if I can get them, they cost an arm and a leg to buy. Genie, this would definitely be a must.

3. A good night’s sleep!

Sleep? What's that?I have a 17-month-old daughter who is cutting some major teeth at the moment – and those of you who have or have had small children will know sleep is a very precious commodity at this time.

Come to think of it, with babies and toddlers, sleep is always a precious thing.

Now, it’s time for a giveaway!

OK, now you know what I would wish for, let me know what you would ask your own magic genie for. The most creative and interesting answer will win a $10 Amazon gift card. It doesn’t matter what part of the world you live in, my giveaway is open for everyone to enter.

Simply leave your three wishes in the comments below. Entries close for the competition at 12pm on Friday, 6 September 2013 (that’s Australian east coast time, by the way).

Once you’ve entered my giveaway, visit Juliet’s blog & enter her giveaway too, and visit any or all of the other participating blogs to enter more prize draws. You could potentially win a whole heap of prizes! Good luck! Visit the official Blog Blitz post here.

Happy reading, everyone!

    I wish for the best word when I need to say it;
    I wish for a lute and the talent to play it;
    And lastly, to never feel lonely again
    In or out of the presence of my fellow men.
