Getting caught in her wedding dress by her drop-dead-gorgeous ex-husband is Reese Michael’s worst nightmare. Especially when her perfect-on-paper fiancé then cancels their wedding!
Reese has spent years trying to forget how her marriage to Mason Hicks crashed and burned-yes, their chemistry was incredible, but a girl can’t live on lust alone! And what’s a jilted bride supposed to do when the one man she could never forget is back in her life, as irresistible as ever? Mason might be her own personal brand of Kryptonite, but surely life is meant to be lived a little dangerously…?
Having your ex-husband rock up as you are trying on your dress for your wedding to another man is probably not high on your list of life’s must-happen events, I would suspect.
This is the problem Reese is confronted with, when Mason turns up looking for closure just days before her wedding. Mason’s reappearance in her life makes major waves – and before she knows it, Reese’s fiancé Dylan has cancelled the wedding (he can see that things aren’t resolved).
The more time Reese spends with her sexy ex, the more she begins to believe that maybe her feelings for Mason are not as resolved as she thought.
I love a good reunion/second chance story. There is something gorgeous about seeing people that are meant to be together find their way back to each other. Reese and Mason sure did stuff up the first time around – neither was really ready for that commitment and they ran at the first sign of trouble. Now both have been through the trials of life and this time, they may just have what it takes to make it together.
Now the story takes place over a few short days, and I know that some may see this as a touch instalovey, but I didn’t see it like that. The chemistry and attraction between Reese and Mason is so strong and real that it wasn’t too hard for me to imagine that they would fall in love again so quickly.
I love the glimpses of Reese’s friends – the heroines from the other Wedding Season stories – so straight after I read this, I went and ordered the rest of the books in the series.
This is a sweet, fun, lighthearted read with just enough emotional oomph to warm your heart. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the Wedding Season.
