Tango Love by Nicole Flockton: Review

January 14, 2014 Reviews 0

Yes! A friends-to-lovers story, one of my favourites. Falling in love with a friend can be difficult enough, but when you add to it the fact that you live with that person, things can get very dicey! Luckily, Nicole Flockton has written us a sweet, sexy, delicious story of finding love in unexpected places.

What is Tango Love about?

Tango LoveA sexy short story about being in love with your best friend — and discovering it takes two to tango.

Melinda Jones has been in love with her housemate, James Brady, since he moved in…but she has no intention of ever telling him. Except it seems James has his own plans…and they include asking her to share a sexy tango — then a little dirty dancing in his bed.

For Melinda, it’s the best night of her life…until she wakes up alone the next morning. Is she destined to spend her life dancing by herself, or will James step up to be the partner of her dreams?

So, here’s what I thought of Tango Love!

Tango Love may be a short, quick read, but as they always say, “The best things come in small packages”.

Melinda wants James. James wants Melinda. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? And it is there you would be wrong. Melinda and James live together as flatmates, good friends, and neither has been able to pluck up the courage to make the first move. No one wants to be that person who ruins the relationship.

However, one night at a club where Melinda attempts to move on and James offers a dance, well….it changes everything.

Wow! That dance is freakin’ hot! The heat and chemistry between Melinda and James leaps off the page from almost the opening moments. There may not have been actual sexytimes at that point, but let’s just say, it’s so sexy you might just need a fan.

The dance leads very quickly to a night together. The connection that was so evident in the dance definitely works its way across to the bedroom. I love that Nicole was able to maintain the heat and passion between these two.

I also loved that despite the hot, sexy encounter, they didn’t immediately dive into “let’s get married” territory. There was just the right amount of soul-searching and uncertainty as to where things would head from there.

Of course, I would have loved this to have been longer. When I am reading something I like this much, I definitely want more. However, the marvellous Ms Flockton has packed this novella with a perfect blend of plot, romance and passion.
