Monday Musings: RuBY Review Challenge

June 16, 2014 Reviews 2

RuBY ReviewsOn Wednesday morning last week, the finalists for the 2014 Romantic Book of the Year (or the RuBY) were announced by the Romance Writers of Australia. You can check out the list of nominees on my post from June 11 – click here.

I’ve read a few of the books that are nominated, but it’s got me thinking. I want to read the rest. So, from next Monday, I am going to be reviewing the remaining RuBY-nominated books. Each week, I will be reviewing a couple of books from the list, finishing on the Monday before the RWA Conference in Sydney in August.

Here are the books I have already reviewed:

What the Bride Didn’t Know by Kelly Hunter
Holding Out for a Hero by Amy Andrews
A Prior Engagement by Karina Bliss
Letter from a Rake by Sasha Cottman
Her Favourite Rival by Sarah Mayberry

The schedule for my RuBY reviews is as follows:

June 23

Gold Coast Angels: Bundle of Trouble by Fiona Lowe
Under the Hood by Juanita Kees

June 30

Nobody But Him by Victoria Purman
A Price Worth Paying by Trish Morey

July 7

The Dissolute Duke by Sophia James
Lost in Kakadu by Kendall Talbot

July 14

A Father at Last by Julie Mac
One Secret Night by Yvonne Lindsay

July 21

Never Say No to a Caffarelli by Melanie Milburne
Secrets of a Career Girl by Carol Marinelli

July 28

One Life Changing Moment by Lucy Clark
Currawong Creek by Jennifer Scoullar

August 4

Mistress at Midnight by Sophia James

I’ll do a recap of the reviews, just before I leave for the RWA Conference in Sydney. Once again, a most heartfelt congratulations to each and every one of these wildly talented authors on being RuBY finalists!

I’ve actually read a few of these books, but never reviewed them the first time around – as they were for leisure reading. So I decided I’d have a crack at the rest of them.

It’ll keep me busy at lunchtimes and when the kidlet is asleep!

I am so looking forward to conference this year.
