Greek tycoon Nicodemus Stathis was never able to forget beautiful heiress Mattie Whitaker. And now, ten years of delicious tension later, Nic finally has her right where he wants her.

Mattie's once powerful family dynasty now lies in ruin, and only Nic can offer them a solution—a solution with vows! She might not have a choice, but Mattie refuses to be the sacrificial queen to his king.

But Nic's slow, deliberate seduction wears down his new bride, and the word "checkmate" lies on his lips like a promise.

Caitlin Crews is this month releasing the first in the Vows of Convenience duo, His for a Price. It has so much of what I love about HP – the exotic locale (who doesn’t want to be in the Greek islands?), the dark sexy hero and heroine, conflict, drama……trust me, it has the right stuff!

Here are my thoughts on His for a Price:

Sparks be flying everywhere between Mattie and Nicodemus – there is so much electricity flowing between these two, they could power a small city. Their mutual attraction and considerable animosity fuels a great part of this story, and surely creates some incredible intimate moments. Much hot. Very sexytimes.

Mattie has a touch of the bad-girl heiress about her, doesn’t she? Some have said she has that Paris Hilton vibe about her, but I see her as more than a sparkly clothes horse. She has demons and her reasons for acting as she has totally gel with me. She doesn’t want to want Nicodemus, but as you know, things doesn’t always go as you want them to in romanceland. She’s a fighter, and she’s needed to be.

Nicodemus may not go about things in an everyday kind of way (hey, he’s a HP billionaire – why should he?), but even in his actions, you can see his desire for Mattie and that he wants to love her for her. His actions towards the end of the story may not entirely match with his initial relentless pursuit of Mattie, however once you read it, you can understand why he did it.

The banter is laced with snark and humour, and is wonderfully authentic in its setting. I tell you, reading His for a Price has made me super-keen to make a return trip to the Greek Islands. The warm, exotic nature of Nicodemus’ island is the perfect place for their relationship to unfold.

Marriage of convenience story lines have not always been perfect for me, but I love how this one has unfolded. I am totally keen to learn more about Mattie’s brother Chase and what motivates him – his is the next story.

Thanks to my recent rediscovery of a love for Harlequin Presents, I am bang-up for a good rich read! Oh, and Caitlin Crews, you have delivered me a good one.
