Favourite Things Friday: January 16, 2015

January 16, 2015 Favourite Things Friday, Random Acts of Reading 0

FridayHey there, Friday! Most importantly, hey there, my lovely readers!

Favourite Things Friday is back for 2015! This year, I will be doing Favourite Things Friday monthly, and on the alternate fortnight, I will be starting a new feature, Filthy Friday, where I will be reviewing erotic romance, and generally NSFW shenanigans may occur.

In today’s instalment of Favourite Things Friday, there are glorious beasts, comfort food items, addictive forms of entertainment and a man who could be Bond.

tumblr_m0frfxJiBA1qjt53mo1_500Up until I moved out of the parental lodge, I always had a cat around. These glorious feline dictators have been a big part of my life, and even though I don’t currently own one, I am always bang up for a spot of cat worship.

I love that they are aloof, slighty haughty and frequently give you that look that says “What are you doing, human? Stop it and feed me?”. I’ve been lucky to share my life with a number of long-lived felines – Mog, the ultimate streetfighter, and my dear old Copper, the last one to go at nearly 19. Even now, many years later, I still expect to see them warming their various territories on my mother’s front lawn.

One day soon, I will delve back into the world of cat ownership…..might just wait until the Tiny Overlord gets a little less grabby. Kitties don’t like grabby!

Macaroni and Cheese

I really love Mac & Cheese. I have an entire Pinterest board devoted to different varieties of the gooey, cheesy pasta snack.

Out of a box, made from scratch at home, or deep-fried into a ball and plonked on top of a burger… I will eat it in pretty much any incarnation!

There’s just something so delicious and thoroughly comforting about tucking into a big bowl of its carby tastiness.

Home renovation shows

RenovateI don’t mind The Block, and I can deal with Changing Rooms. However, since getting the extra channels on Foxtel, I have rediscovered my love of home renovation shows. Two weeks in Hawaii, and nights of watching HGTV while my daughter slept, also helped to keep the fire raging.

The more over-the-top, the better as far as I am concerned. Watching people’s designs and budgets fly out the window…so addictive!

I have watched so much of the Property Brothers and My Dream Home lately, and a few years ago, while heavily pregnant, I watched so much Grand Designs, I am surprised the Tiny Overlord doesn’t immediately perk up at the sound of Kevin McCloud’s voice.

The thought of Idris Elba as James Bond

I think this cartoon I saw at Christmas sums up my thoughts on the subject of Idris Elba and him becoming James Bond….

As much as I love Daniel Craig and his craggy blonde hotness, I could totally go with this outcome! I agree, Mrs Claus!

If you are still not convinced, here is a video of him working out…..because, well, it’s Idris Elba working out…

Just imagine that in a suit…… **stares, distracted by video**

There goes this instalment of Favourite Things Friday. Hope you enjoyed it!

As always, my lovely readers, have a wonderful day and a brilliant weekend!!
